Today is Election Day!
 
Today is the March 5 Democratic and Republican primary elections! Enter your address at www.Vote411.org to see a personalized sample ballot and compare candidates' responses to LWV questions. Polls are open 7AM to 7PM.
 
The Libertarian party will choose candidates at conventions on March 12 (precinct) and March 16 (county). The Green party also uses conventions to select candidates. You may only participate in one party's selection process.
 
In this primary election, voters will choose Democratic and Republican party candidates for races such as:
  • President
  • U.S. Senator
  • U.S. Representative
  • Railroad Commissioner
  • Tx Supreme Court Justice
  • Tx Court of Criminal Appeals Justice
  • Tx 5th Court of Appeals District Justice
  • Tx State Board of Education Member
  • Tx State Senator
  • Tx State Representative
  • District Judge
  • Criminal District Judge
  • County Commissioner
  • Sheriff
  • County Tax Assessor-Collector
Additionally, both parties will elect county chairs and precinct chairs. Republican voters will vote on non-binding propositions to advise their state party on the direction it should take.

A candidate forum is a live public meeting in which two or more of the candidates for office present their views in short individual speeches, and then answer questions from the audience.

The League of Women Voters never supports or opposes any political party or political candidate. Forums sponsored by the LWV, or in which the LWV participates, are nonpartisan and ensure that all participating candidates are treated fairly and equally.
