This is a historic day for our country and a reminder of how we engage in government.
Thank you to Ashley Washington, our VP for Advocacy, in leading the Observer Corps work and for launching the program for our volunteers!
Ashley researched how Leagues across the country manage their Corps and is bringing back to the Dallas League a program that will work for us and engage our volunteers in local advocacy. We are very excited! And as Ashley has stated, "Observer Corps are a structured way for individuals to exercise their right to know. They provide a valuable service to the community. They help ensure the public is aware of the decisions that impact their lives and they promote government transparency and accountability."

Volunteer NOW to cover County Commissioners Court and City Council briefings. The City Council meets once a month and you can sign up for one or two shifts. The County Commissioners Court meets twice a month and you can sign up for one or two shifts. We have posted dates for several months, so you can plan ahead. The first volunteer opportunity is January 10!
