Hani Mirza, Senior Attorney with the Texas Civil Rights Project (TCRP) will present the background and successful outcome of their court case forcing Texas to allow voters to register and update their voter registration through the Department of Public Safety (DPS), either in-person or online, whenever they obtain, update, or renew their TX Drivers License. As time permits, we should be able to briefly cover other election and registration issues of common interest to TCRP and LWV. Specifically, being able to cure additional types of ballot problems, and voter file purging using NCOA database, and potential future projects.
