Help Get Voter Guides and Rack Cards Across the County
Please help us get Voter Guides and rack cards out in time for the November 4, 2025 election. We will be using the Oak Lawn Library again for distribution. Distribution to our volunteers will be on Tuesday October 14 and we are asking our teams to get the materials dropped off by Friday October 17, so they are in place in time for Early Voting which begins on October 20.

To sign up, please go to the volunteer and scroll down to October 14 to find these volunteer opportunities. We have two ways you can help:

(1) Support – these folks help pull materials, verify accuracy, and help the distribution volunteers load their cars.

(2) Distribution – these folks choose which batches they want to deliver. You can choose locations in a specific area, or you can choose anywhere across the county. Our support team will gather the materials and help get them in your car.

If you are new to this process, here is some powerful data from May 2025:

16,185 Voter’s Guides delivered by our volunteers

11,900 Bookmarks

10 SUPPORT volunteers

27 DISTRIBUTION volunteers

Our volunteers are amazing!  Right?!

In League,

Diane Tasian, Director of Volunteers

Help plant VOTE TODAY signs across the county

In May Bill Betzen put out VOTE TODAY signs directing voters to Vote Centers that are off the major streets. There was a very good increase in turnout. We would like to expand this to areas across the county.

To sign up, please go to the volunteer page and scroll down to October 13 to find this volunteer opportunity. We have two ways you can help:

(1) Planning & Design – we will use data from Dallas County Elections Department and Dallas Voting Initiative to identify areas of high voter registration but low turnout.  Then we will identify Vote Centers off the beaten path.  Then we will figure out how many signs are needed per location to see how many we can cover.

(2) Planting signs – a pair of volunteers to plant and retrieve signs for each quadrant of the county during Early Voting and on Election Day.

If you have any VOTE TODAY signs you are not using, please let me know, and I will come pick them up to add to this effort.

In League,

Diane Tasian, Director of Volunteers

Zoning 101 Community Talks

As you may know, the City of Dallas is preparing to update its zoning code—and the Dallas Housing Coalition has scheduled numerous Zoning 101 Community Talks to ensure every community is informed, engaged, and heard.

As a proud member of Dallas Housing Coalition, we encourage you to attend one of the free sessions scheduled throughout Dallas. Attendees will:

  • Learn what zoning is and how it impacts housing, transportation, and economic development in your area

  • Understand what changes are coming to Dallas’s zoning code—and why they matter

  • Share your voice and ask questions in a welcoming, community-led space

  • Enjoy free food, drinks, and meaningful conversations with your neighbors

The next session will be this Tuesday, October 7, 6 pm — 7:30 pm, at Bachman Lake Together Family Center, 9507 Overlake Dr, Dallas, TX 75220.

You can view other options, including a virtual Community Talk on October 27, at bit.ly/dallastalkszoning.
