Prepare to be a voter!

Support the City Amendment for Voters to Consider Election Consolidation!

The Mayor and the City Council are considering an amendment to allow Dallas voters to decide if we want to move our municipal elections from May to November of odd-numbered years. Consolidating our elections will limit voter fatigue and confusion, and is beneficial in cost. If the amendment is approved, it goes to the voters for final say this November.

The City Council will discuss the amendment again at the Wednesday, June 26 meeting. Please contact the Mayor and your Council members directly to advocate in support of the amendment’s inclusion on November’s ballot. This is one of the most effective things we can all do. You can find information on your City Councilperson here. A list of their names and emails is below.

 Volunteer with LWVD!

Volunteers are enjoying the summer break!

It’s quiet right now on the volunteer front.   Please check out the Volunteering Opportunities for Senior Voter Service opportunities and Back to School events.  There are currently two pages of opportunities that are available here.

Behind the scenes we are developing Short-Term Goals focused on activities leading to the November election and weaving the new Board members into our process.  Please check back late next week.  We will have a lot more opportunities focused on Short-Term Goals.

In League,

Diane Tasian, Director of Volunteers
