Neighborhood Unit Meeting - 7 PM - Climate Change and the Environment

About this event

The Neighborhood Unit Meeting this Month is on Climate Change and the Environment.

40,000 Metric Tons of High-Level Radioactive Waste (Nuclear Spent Fuel)

Could Come Through the Middle of Dallas and Throughout Texas

Presenters: Karen Hadden, Director of SEED (Sustainable Energy and Economic Development) Coalition and Susybelle Gosslee, LWVTX Issue Chair for Hazardous Materials and Nuclear Waste.

Nuclear Spent Fuel is the most dangerous material in the world and our experts will cover the following questions:

  • What is high-level radioactive waste and nuclear spent fuel?
  • Why would it come through Dallas?
  • Where will it go?
  • Why do Texans have to take it when it isn’t our nuclear waste?
  • When will it arrive?
  • Who is making this decision?
  • Why does the public not know about this dangerous material coming to Texas?
  • What does nuclear spent fuel have to do with climate change?

Please register for the meeting and you will receive the zoom information and reminder notices in your email from the League of Women Voters of Dallas.
