Nominations Open for 2025 LWVD Awards

Dear Members,
As we stride into 2025, the League of Women Voters of Dallas is excited to announce nominations for two esteemed awards recognizing individuals who have profoundly impacted our community: The Making Democracy Work Award and the Eleanor Sutherland Volunteer Award. Both awards will be presented at the 28th Annual League of Women Voters of Dallas Luncheon in February 2025.

The Making Democracy Work Award honors those who champion democracy and civic engagement in Dallas. Past recipients have advanced voter rights and amplified underrepresented voices, leaving lasting impressions on our community.

Similarly, the Eleanor Sutherland Volunteer Award acknowledges individuals whose volunteer efforts have left enduring marks on our organization and community. Named after Eleanor Sutherland, this award celebrates those embodying her dedication to societal betterment.

Nominees for these awards should have a significant history of leadership initiatives and contributions to democracy and community impact.

Let's honor the unsung heroes among us by nominating those whose remarkable efforts deserve recognition. Submit nominations for the Making Democracy Work or Eleanor Sutherland Volunteer Awards to spotlight their extraordinary contributions.

Click here for the Making Democracy Work Award nomination form, and click here for the Eleanor Sutherland Volunteer Award nomination form. The deadline for submissions is April 31, 2024. While he is leaving LWVD, he will not be leaving the League of Women Voters, as he is the incoming Co-President of the Collin County League and an incoming Director on the LWV Texas board.
